Port Operation
Portonave’s container cargo operations are fast and efficient, shipping and receiving containers from all over the world.
The Terminal stands out for its reefer (refrigerated) cargo operations, which account for nearly 50% of the cargo handled. Another attractive option for reefer cargo is Iceport, the cold storage chamber whose operations are integrated with Portonave.
Portonave’s operational efficiency is a result of the use of modern equipment, which ensures high performance and safety levels, in addition to its highly skilled team.
All equipment is submitted to frequent inspections to identify the need for repairs or preventive corrections. These inspections include electrical and mechanical maintenance services of both container handling equipment and the vehicle fleet.
Technology is also valued in Portonave’s security systems. Nearly 200 surveillance cameras, placed in strategic locations, are responsible for the Terminal’s electronic surveillance. In addition, biometric access control and electronic rounds systems, physical barriers such as turnstiles, fences and walls, and ostensive surveillance complement the Port’s security system.
